Rose is best known for her character Lorrell, Robinson in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born on the 6th September 1973) is an American performer and singer. Her most well-known role was her performance as Tiana the Princess from Disney. She is one of the very first African American Princess to appear in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was recognized as a Disney Legend. She also has a starring performance, in the role of Lorrell Robinson on the show Dreamgirls (2007) which was nominated for an Academy Award. And she performs the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on the show Starz's Power. Her other notable roles include her performances in theatre particularly for her starring roles as Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in the Broadway production of Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Beneatha Younger, who played the Broadway adaptation of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) in which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
